Work wise_just do it; donch urgue/question...that will be much easier and I suppose less white hair.

And I just got a msg from my ex jc class mate cos he/she is getting the attendance numbers for a decade anniversary makan at RPS's atas buffet...looks gd, menu wise...let me ponder 'cos from my previous dining experience with my dear Jelly Fish, we conclude that both of us are not big eaters for buffets but both of us r more of ala-carte type of eaters...but then again, I think it has been a gd whole 9 years since I last saw the bulk of them other than finding some of them on Facebook, so I suppose it's no harm going...

And it's 2 months b4 the holiday to Seoul....fingers crossed that the trip will be going ahead; taking into consideration of the recent spat of h1n1...

Pretty much life as a working slave remains_but then again, i think work wise is like that one lor.

And also pass my IPPT but with mixed emotions.

Happy in a sense that no need go through the time wasting motion of RT.
Pissed in that by a mere 7 seconds, I miss out on extra $100 bucks.

Since the 1st (and only) entry for this month, what has happen then?

- Holland blitz both Italy and France in the Euro 2008 tournament;

- Turkey produces amazing comebacks against Czech Republic + Switzerland + Croatia to chiong to the last 4 where they almost pull it off against Germany;

- Russia's better fitness level saw them convincingly eliminate the Dutch in extra time in the 1/3 finals before falling to Spain in Thursday's semi final;

- Counting down to Germany vs Spain (Or you may want to term it Adidas vs Adidas since both teams are kitted by Adidas,haha).

Non-footballing wise,

-Attend friend's wedding in early June (one more in the pipeline in October and another in January 2009);

- 1 of my closest confide (my primary school teacher) has left Uniquely Singapore for Australia early yesterday morning;

-Met up with some university friends for a simple dinner yesterday (typical but good natured Q & A, talking crap and serious stuff & not least finding out that some friends had swopped occupations already).

Busy fidgeting with my "on-loan" digi cam" while my friend flipped the menu.

And taking a picture using my "1/2 pail of water" photography skills

(sure the V sign is like some watch advert pose,agree?)

And to utilise part of Saturday morning to have a peek at some Dog Skills Competition that was conveniently (and geographically) held opposite my home.

Group A saw their 1st games in action.

With their skipper Alex Frei out of the remainder of the tournament with a damaged knee, Swiss goal options are running on even lower tank as the co-hosts fall 1-0 to the Czech Republic. From the game, the Swiss are able to create good goal scoring chances but lack the centre forward to convert the chances against Czech Republic, whose only decent chance in the entire 90 minutes materialised into the goal. That makes their next game against foes Turkey a do-or-die match in Basel.

Portugal look mobile and impressive against Turkey with creation of chances not too much of a problem either and they have far more goal scoring options. Interestingly, the 4 teams in Grp A seem to have limited centre forwards for them to select but Turkey look rather toothless. Plus the bad blood brewing between the Swiss and Turks following the 2006 world cup playoff brawl, the game @ Basel shall be one hell of a contest.

Czech Republic wise lack the one guy who can create the killer pass to create the chances, not least the fact again their heavy reliance on a ageing Jan Koller. But I like the coach's tactical brillance of injecting fluidity into the team formation as seen in the game against Switzerland.

But still I shall look forward the 1st "bling-bling" match of the tournament where Holland face Italy on Tuesday morning!

Following West Brom and Stoke City into the riches land of the Premier League is Hull City aka The Tigers.

Huh?? what Hull City?

For a team that just survive in the Coca Cola Championship 06/07 just outside the relegation places, to have a 360 degree turnaround and see themselves getting promoted & welcoming the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool to their KC Stadium for 08/09 is amazing. But more likely the 1st choice candidates to go straightdown at the end of the 08/09 season_or at least go down with a fight and don't be like Derby County.

On the same day, the worse kept secret is finally confirmed as this Avram Grant is SACKED as
Chelsea manager.

His job status is more like a matter of time when he would get the boot since he definitely was not Chelsea's 1st choice replacement for Mourinho. It is more likely a matter of Rijkaard or Hiddink to take up the most poison chalice of all (the other one being Real Madrid) to manage in the Premier League.

... return back to work after a 1-week hiatus partly due to illness & partly due to clearing some time-off. I would be lying through the gaps of my teeth if I say I am not nervous by it.

I think I shall take things in my stride and not get affected as much as I can try to by work. However, my words to my friend during a lunch buffet with my ex-teacher remains at present.
My return to work will leave me feel more apprehensive with the concern of more mistakes.

That doesn't mean Chelsea may have it their way against theTurkish league winners Fernebahche. That is where Anelka's previous spell with the Turkish side will come in handy. For Fernebahche, their home crowd support should play a key role in providing extra edge against Chelsea. There is also one fella by the name of Mateja Kezman who sure would want to prove some of his doubters wrong after one poor season with the Blues prior to the move to Turkey.

(b) And really as gut feeling proves, somehow there is bound to be a rematch and it has to be Roma vs Man Utd. Even as a Manchester follower, I would still regard last season's 7-1 2nd leg win being more a freak result as maciam every shot the Red Devils take aim find the back of the net. But then again, ideally, hopefully can have Manchester United vs Barcelona in the last 4. Gd or no gd?

Apart from the 3 days MC given,
I pretty much have switched away from work completely.
It may turn out to be ok on the hindsight since working side don't suka suka grant access to allow staff to read office email from home (only the senior mgmt people are granted such privileges).
This can also mean come end of MC + timeoff, the 1st thing when on the computer, is clear email.
But then again, I shalll leave that till Monday lor, bo bian.

And of course, BPL now deemed to be the best league in Europe since half of the 1/4 final lineup are the Big 4. There is the possibility of all 4 playing one another in the semi final. or the possibility that the 4 have to face one another in the quarterfinal.

That one have to wait till this Friday evening when the champion's league conduct its 1/4 final draw. No more country protection meaning that the English sides can play one another. And the possibility that there may be re-matches from last couple of seasons' matchup.

My guess for the 1/4 final lineup is as belows.

but sometimes is better be safe than sorry.

So far is alright medical wise, fortunately.
I guess for me, I may have an even better idea during this week's visit to the specialist clinic.

I suppose I have placed much stress on my shoulders.
Hence, the minor health scare/concern.
I think this compulsory medical leave can give me the chance to take stock and recharge myself.
And learn to take things on a lighter side.
If not sooner or later, the colour of the light will change from amber to full fledged red.

The start of March means that it's going into a quarter of the year.
As I was meddling my blog stuff, some chap apparently came across my last blog post (anybody by the nick yellowdrogba?) and left some encouraging words in the comments column.

I appreciate it, thanks.
Much as nobody likes a blunt (but honest & objective) opinion + assessment of my current work performance from my current supervisor, I guess I may have come to some sort of a crossroad career-wise, albeit still early in my young working life. At least that is how I feel at the moment.

I think I shall leave the issue on the sidelines temporarily while I try to recover the faith and confidence I have lost (perhaps a sabbactical in the form of a short overseas trip to recharge myself and maybe do some kind of stock check to see what I am really looking for in life)

Now in the midst of tuning to some football phone-in via BBC online.
And sure it's BPL (since S'pore is largely fed with tonnes of BPL via cable and print media etc).
Manchester United keep on winning and scoring more goals & that's good since the difference between having the gold colour league crest on the sleeves of the jersey or not could jolly well boil down to goal scored etc. And with the Big 4 all involved in mid-week Champion's league games, things could be in for more twists and turns as the season goes into the final months prior to this summer's Euro 2008.

Worringly, Newcastle still can't win.
Certainly the "Keegan as Messiah" hype is long gone.
And just 3 points above the dreaded trap door for the drop.

Just now over food, I randomly talk with my sis & mum abt some general things about work.
And some of the Duh things that bosses/immediate supervisors do, for instance having this habit (I refrain from using the term "unhealthy" 'cause it's a bitz debatable) of sending emails as the day draws to a close etc.

When I mean draws to a close etc, it's the 11pm plus onwards kind of graveyard timing.
Ironic 'cause during the schooling time, it's pretty common for one to find himself/herself still online at the wee hours of the morning or what knots doing school assignments etc. But somehow as one come to the working life, it just get quite irritating when knowing that you can't access office email from your home PC/iMac or whatever nut gadget yet bosses still want to send you the mail just because they can do so via home or on the go when they are holding the damn bloody PDA shit. Much as sometimes we want to respond immediately, i think it's inevitable that they conveniently forget we as employees aren't given convenient access of office email lah.

DUH!

Or maybe they like the idea of keeping employees on the tenterhooks 1st thing in the morning when they switch on the office PC and log in. Ok, it may be gd that they are constantly kept on the alert mode to be ready for work. But at the price of stress and foul mood and strained family relations. Regardless of whether you are married or single or whatever shit.

It's inevitable that with the work stress etc shit that is in the society, maciam everyday have to eat,sleep,drink and dream about work. I would equate it to like squeeze orange juice from orange.

I think I once again show the blunt side of me as I relate my thoughts to my family.

I am contemplating the answer : "提心吊胆"

Ideally my superiors should not simply 对号入座 and take it as some sort of personal attack on them from me. They are in an equally difficult position, yes. They are also oranges that are being squeezed, albeit by their own HoDs or PS/MoS/etc. It's the setting of the society that make it such.

I guess until life-saving utopia appears, it's everyday headache, more white hair and perhaps more LS as a member of the working slaves...HAha.

Yes, so much has been talked about the leakage of some very private pics that a HK celebrity took with some chicks. It has probably reached that saturated point that it turns people off with the amount of over-exposure (word & flesh wise) abt what he does blah blah blah.

And just a day or two ago, UK papers have this chap splashed acrossed sports sections for not exactly very correct type of headlines.

For the benefit of those that may not watch football that often, he's Paul Gascoigne,former Ingland international. And he was brought into UK police custody under the Mental Health Act.

Some of the weird things he was alleged to be doing include walking around hotel vicnity with 3 battery operated toy parrots on him and constantly ordering raw liver for hotel room service.

Imagine u call your hotel room service and ask them "Hallo, I wan order some raw tur kwa pls"

He has seem to be suffering from some mental problems (the usual words popped incld depression,mental breakdown etc) and maciam he haywire & the UK authority has made him to go for compulsory treatment to overcome the problem.

His case spells similarity to what Britney Spears has been in as well.

Public figures in the spotlight tak boleh take stress and then go haywire liao.

Quite a pity for Gazza who during his height of his career has been a talented player although my impression is more of his less than effective spells with Boro and Everton towards the end of his playing career.

And the incident may serve to highlight the need for psychological help to cope with daily stress during his career and it should go on even after he or she stop singing / playing.

If not dire consequences, if you know what I mean.

I think I am going through this stage of my brief working life.
Not literally exchanging blows with people per se.

It's more like buckling under work expectations and stress etc.
And I suppose I am in my mgr's bad books, I think.
As it turns out, my working capability is worse than I imagine.

Sad isn't it?
Not least I have the "Resigned to Fate" kind of mentality.
And my family maciam becomes my outlet to pour out my frustration.
Or to be more defined, they become my 出气筒

And my mind ripples as I was playing this Cantonese song titled "落花流水" by 陈奕迅.
The melody of song is like tailored for a typical TVB drama serial opening or concluding song.
I like the way the song says some stuff which I think is applicable towards the outlook of life in general.

Yes, the year of the Mouse has already been into its 3rd day and about to embark to day 4.

The usual round of new year visiting is there but for some slight adjustments to the visiting programme, I only went to my uncle's place (or I think it sounds fine to term his residence a multi-million dollar mansion for very valid & sound reasons).

Previously, I used to feature the Red ferrari parked at his house porch but for a change,
I decide to feature the box of cigars at one of the display shelves of his house.

The moment I saw the box of cigars, it reminds me of The Godfather instantly although I have only heard of the name but not seen the movie before.

As for catching up with friends-wise, this evening was utilised with meeting some of my primary school classmates. The usual stuff. Like where u working. And more sounds and news about who is almost certain to be next in line to tie the knot and be a member of what I term it the 'BBQ lifestyle' club (I come across the term in Blinkymummy's blog and i think it makes sense 'cause once one is married or the circle of friends are settled down with married status, the nature of the gathering etc will eventually change, if you know what I mean).

And during the course of the conversing, when asked whether anyone does bring home work to do often, I like the answer that one of my classmates give (think he should be on his path to be a CPA next year or something).

" I make a point not to bring work home...'cause I work until 2am++ in office mah"

I haven't pen any words since Jan 20.
And before I know it, tomorrow is last day of the month.

Thats mean:
- January is ending & there are 11 months left.
-Chinese new year is coming although the mood/feel of enjoying isn't the same as it becomes more of a "doing more of the sake of doing as you grow older" kind of thing. Sad hor?
-Morning meetings for the next 2 days. Meetings are always a mix of (a) legitimate manner to waste some time and (b) really get some useful things discussed. Bleh

It has been slightly more than a month into my 2nd job.

I think is so far a good learning experience.

And I am glad (at least that is what I think & hope so) that my colleagues so far haven't got irritated by my constant questioning & they having to reteach/drum the basic working knowledge into my head although it seems i now have a short-term memory.Kinda strange but I guess it really serve the purpose in my little notebook of some of the learning points.

And so far more or less confirm that during LNY period, there will be a gathering of some sort amongst my primary school friends. Time flies as it has been @ least 15 years;some as far as 19 years since I know them. Nice people. And hence my long standing view that the best time of my education is without hesistation & doubt, my time as a gong-gong innocent primary school bloke.

And of course this year already confirm that one of my best 兄弟 is tying the knot.

that makes him the 2nd (1st amongst the guys) in my pri sch clique to reach the shore,haha.

I feel happy for him. Congrats.

I wonder who will be amongst my university friends to tie the knot?

Current mood:闷闷不乐 for no apparent reason whatsoever.

Normally at least there is some ground as to why one may feel moody or lethargic etc.

But for me, I can't pinpoint the exact reason for the bizarre moodiness.

I think I am still in the midst of fitting myself into the working life.

Not sure if it sounds normal to be trying to fit into the working world (albeit a new organisation);and is already nearly 6 months since graduation.

1 week gone @ my new workplace.

Time fly very fast one.

And I have to say it has been an eye-opener in terms of the work I am doing.

As such, I believe it is only fair to give some benefit of doubt to the people running the services 'cause at times the reasons leading to the apparent problem may not be within one's control.

I think nowadays my memory isn't as good as before.'Cause the department I am attached to is quite big.and quite a few names to remember in terms of my new colleagues which I think now my memory span is rather malfunctioning, I think I better do what I am adopting. That is to jot down. If not quite paisei if months down the road,I still don't know the name of the person u hang out with for lunch or for work.

At least this month ain't that bad since got a few public holidays etc.

Of course got work deadline to meet still.

And I think this month with many still in the midst of clearing their annual leave,

this means must 不耻下问 and clarify with work-related stuff since I am technically still a green horn,maciam like this shrieking ostrich below,LOL.

As things stand, no England (hooray!)

And given the ever usual confusing way of computing the scores and seeding the 16 finalists,

Holland is the unfortunate footballing giant (albeit a sleeping one in my view despite the talent they produce) that will find themselves with the higher possibility to be thrown into a Group of Death that may contain the likes of France,Italy or even Germany.

If England want to KBKB about being given a hard draw for their attempt to qualify for South Africa 2010,spare a thought for both China & Australia who are in the toughest 3rd qualifying round draw for Asia.

China having difficulty trying to shed the tag of being underachievers in Asian football (not lost by the fact they have only reached the Finals once in pale comparison to the likes of Japan & South Korea).

Australia thought by leaving Oceania to play under the AFC zone, they may have a easier path to qualify even in the event of the playoff (which incidentally they will contest the Oceania zone winners this time round,most likely is New Zealand). They already found it out the hard way in July's Asian Cup tourney.

Throw in the likes of surprise Asian Cup holders Iraq & Asian games gold medal winner Qatar.

Yesterday was the draw for the various qualifying zones for the 2010 FIFA world cup.

Singapore is in the hat for the 3rd qualifying round draw for the Asian Zone.Thailand is the other SEA nation that is in the draw as well where they are grouped with Oman,Bahrain & Japan.

No I ain't bruffing hor.Our little red dot is in.

S'pore may still have a mini of mini chance to achieve its much ridiculed Goal 2010.

But the group got these few countries & one sentence for our temasek united (maybe FAS can start looking for any FTs who can gelek & play football and ask them take up our citizenship to play for us. And also pls look beyond granting fast-tracked citizenship to the few countries that we have granted so far; such as Serbia,England (who can't even get out a Euro 2008 qualifying section of 12 games) and Nigeria) - Keep Dreaming.

By now, I am in the midst of clearing my pro-rated leave (in English terms,known as garden leave) before I move onto to start my next posting with another organisation.

And I am still contemplating whether should out of goodwill & polite gesture send a farewell email to my soon-to-be ex colleagues. I think I should bah.

Much as the time spent is relatively short by most standards,

I think I have learnt some valuable things/lessons that I will remember.

And going into the other organisation where it is an entirely different ball game in terms of what I will be doing, really have to buck up.

And again Man United suffer a rare loss. Much as media emphasis will be harping that it is their 1st defeat since the Manchester derby defeat in August, they seem to have conveniently left out the shock Carling Cup defeat to Coventry by just coining it as a defeat for United's 2nd string.

Defeat means defeat,no need to differentiate down to the fine details.

Tonight is the draw for the qualifiers of the 2010 world cup.

The sequence of the draw will be AFC, then CAF, UEFA & lastly CONCACAF.

Oceania & South America had their respective qualifying campaigns got under the way so they need not be there.

Look out for Singapore who alongside Thailand are the sole reps that will be in the hat for the 3rd qualifying round for the Asian Football Confederation.

The main focus will also be on UEFA & with the recently released FIFA rankings being used partly as the basis to seed the nations, overrated England find themselves in a highly likely situation of having to face some of the more sound European counterparts such as Italy, Germany etc.

Wake up around 4plus am to catch the 2nd half of the Champion's league on a cooling public holiday so far (thanks to the medium size downpour).

-Man Utd 4 Dynamo Kiev 0 (woohoo,qualification for 1st knockout round sealed;now is to secure top spot in the Group with a win over Sporting Lisbon on matchday 5 so that come the 2 legged knockout round, United may have the luxury of playing the 2nd leg at home)

-in the midst of watching the game, i took a munch of the 老婆饼 from 翠香亭 (the shop is located next to the food court entrance at AMK Hub,level 3;can't possibly miss it). And to be honest, that is the closest in terms of taste to the authentic version that is very famous in Hongkong.

-and finally can get some good quality (albeit sleeping & being a couch potato @ home,haha) rest in the midst of being a working class.

What has taken place over the weekend?

- Go career fair @ Suntec City yesterday. Quite a sizeable turnout. It is more of see & look to have a feel of roughly which organisation/company to send the CV to. Needless to say, the desire to switch remains,be it within or out of the industry.

-Man Utd winning 4-1 @ Aston Villa. Great!Next up is in Kiev in midweek. Hard place to go to as Dynamo Kiev only had lost just once at home against English opposition despite the fact they are not the same force as they used to be in the late 90s.

What to look forward to this week?

- Tuesday afternoon meeting.

- Wednesday attend course.

- Thursday attend site meeting in afternoon.

- Friday attend half day course in afternoon.

Sounds great on hindsight 'cause the actual amount of hours to wind time down legitamately is the most since I start work. Haha.

Meaning a new month is on the horizon and 2007 coming to a close.

The weather has been pretty sucky these days.

In any case I still have the tendency to sleep on the train & at frequent times almost dozing off @ work despite having coffee/tea prior to cross checking those final account figures (this one confirm my colleague seating diagonally to my right can testify,muahaha)

And I also don't exactly know what to blabber about.

Work wise I guess consider quite alright since my mentor go on leave for the entire week.

Whatever task I can try to do or arrowed to do or etc, I try to do lor.

If not how do I get my paycheck @ the end of the month.

And I suppose SG news wise dominated by this NSF who literally blow his chances of ORDing next month after he manage to sneak out of his camp with a SAR21 & some live rounds and kena arrested at one downtown cineplex which is pretty popular with the crowd.Then of course news unveil he is tangled in some unresolved BGR problem (NS term called 兵变) and what knots. & confirm the only way for him to get a lighter sentence is to claim unsound mind.

First & for most, a happy teacher's day to all teachers out there.

It is also the start of the 1 week holidays for most sch kids out there except for those preparing their Os/As/PSLE or what knots.

But i think now is a case of "play a bit first & then burn mid-night oil etc later" for most.

With the start of holidays mean more crowd in town,like Suntec City which I was @ for appx 2 hours to partly collect the Hush Puppy freebie & buy a pair of new earphones for my MP3 players.But don't know why,I just dread the crowd & all the bits of pushing & ..... it is not really my cup of tea,haha.

And it is already close to 3 months of being a working peasant.

Why I use the term 'peasant' is because I still hold the belief that only Pay & Pay can be the elite & national media reporting that our local food hawkers don't exploit the GST hike by indiscriminately jacking up their prices which is way more that the 2% hike.

Back to the point,don't know leh.

Mix emotions bah.

On 1 side,I am earning X dollars working in this corporatised former govt dept but another person from the same batch (whom I understand only a "pass" degree) drawing abt Y dollars in public sector.

Of course normal to feel down slightly 'cause is like that "Wah Lau Eh" feeling.

On the other hand,I am never convinced by any public sector dept privatising 'cause largely the hierachy remains too many (ok lar,@ least I can be entitled to some personal opinion of mine,right?)

For instance,normally when one hears the term 'Vice President' in working world,most will go "wow,powerful post sia". But when you have on average about 2 or 3 VPs in each division & the corporation has quite a few divisions,it just makes the VP post something like a mockery.

I will see how things go 3 months down the line (which is when my probation period is up) & things may change.Sian,monday got the thick file to go thrgh for final account.But better than nth when my mentor is on leave and is in some way to keep me occupied before I can doze off,haha

One of my colleagues just out of the blue ask me how I find the job so far & was it bored etc blah blah blah blah.And in an evasive manner,I just deflect the question away with a typical "hmm,this question is too sensitive & erm,next question please".

I think the time when I have zero enthusiasm (or running on empty tank etc) for the job I am doing at present is when I tender my RL. But till the day I do so, I think I just have to live with it.

Meaning more dozing off @ work;drowning down with more coffee & hiding in the toilet cubicle of the gents @ my office level to power sleep. (comic strip below extracted from cartoonstock.com)

Yes, you read it correct & i didn't type wrongly. Since can't blantantly sleep @ your desk during office hours as typical bosses expect their workers to be occupied with doing things instead of not doing anything but instead skiving off to buy coffee/curry puffs/whatever snacks they sell @ bloody expensive prices @ novena square,so this has to be a more realistic choice of take nap in a toilet cubicle,but not too long a nap in case your towkay/mentor starts to smell a fish.Not that toilet stinks though.

Tomorrow I will be away for this "God-Knows-What" Residential RT/ICT for 1 week.

Ok lah,I never pass IPPT most of the time other than just before I ORD in 2003 so I try to pass this time lor.

Why I put "God Knows What" is because I have no idea what takes place during RT.

Sure there is bound to be loads of physical training & stuff.

But then hor,can't be just PT & PT for 4 straight days until take IPPT on day 5.

And later this evening will see our PM deliver the NDR (in case anyone out there don't know NDR means national day rally)speech.

Last year he did let the slip of the tongue with the "mee siam mai hum" mistake where it should be instead "mee siam mai hiam" (if i remember,the pretty obvious slip-up was rather covered up by SG's media & the various songs etc that roll out as a direct parody to PM's error,haha). So exciting to see what kind of blips may appear in a speech other than the brief outline of key national policies that will be delivered in the NDR, :P

In the meantime,my next post should be up during the weekend after the residential RT/ICT.

My enthusiasm is scary in that it can switch on & off unknowingly and it can get quite sickening about it. "Sian" sounds a better word/terminology to use.

Start of the new English Premier League season.

Actually by end of the month,the major leagues in Europe would have started.

Being part of the workforce means less time to burn midnight sleep in mid-week to watch the games (but when the Champion's league starts in September,it means a different story liao hor,taking into account the amount of annual leave I am entitled to use)

Now I regard weekends more as time to recharge after being part of the many slaves that squeeze public transport every weekday morning & evening & being part of the dreaded lunch time crowd because seats r hard to find (not because of the clique i am mixing with)

Still,I reassure my friends that if got gathering (& time & will wise permitting),I will try to be there

And with reservist RT (from the usage of the word RT u can pretty much tell I haven't pass IPPT since ORD in 2003,bleH) coming up in about a week's time, I regard it as a good way to put my pea brain away from work & do something that won't really need to use so much of my brain..haha

Ideally, this week remains relatively peaceful (why peaceful is because last week the project architect for the project I am involved in literally stop short of throwing furniture @ the main contractor's PM for the lack of progress of physical work @ site as client was apparently unhappy about it).

& more learning (so long as no need tire my pea brain out,haha).

& eat/sleep/drink/poo/brush teeth as per normal in a boring way,haha

I was trying to inspire myself to blog @ least once since my last entry on 22/7/07.

Now is already 4/8/07.

Obviously I lazy & no motivation to blog cock,haha.

1st,Iraq's historic Asian Cup win is definitely the best illustration of a sporting triumph that can unite a divided nation torn by warfare (they can't even have the victory parade back @ Baghdad after the tournament's conclusion for fear of their own safety). Fairytale finish!

Work pretty much evolve around more paper work & attend company courses.

And now put on silent mobilisation standby till 18/8/07.

Following monday 1 week of reservist stay-in RT,sian & chey.

I thought initially is some kind of 1 week course to gear up for some major deployment.

And not that I am really aware of my unit (not SAF hor) got such pattern/wayang one leh.

Anyway,I shall regard it as some welcomed break since technically I can only start to utilise my entitled annual leave next month (obviously still on probation,duh).

And I am not going to slog my arse off for anything reservist related.

No point slog like mad 'cause even if I do the rare thing & pass IPPT @ the end of the RT,

I need to have the life to spend the monetary incentives that come along with it ("有钱没命花").

Let me bum around a little bit more since this week shorter week due to this.

It ain't that very long while that I haven't do much blogging.

Since the last entry a fortnight ago,

I had my Commencement (or also known as graduation) on 11th Jul to mark what is symbolically the end of the education journey,at least for the time being.

And I am glad that my family had been there to provide support (both emotionally & financially) when necessary. If not I doubt I can finish the "at times tiring,at times frustrating & at times fun" education race.

And after the ceremony, a bunch of us went to marina square to sort of have a good makan. I still think the ice coffee turns out better than the meal itself,haha. And went for another brief round of picture taking with some of the peepz @ esplanade /anderson bridge.In typical Victory-pose or Beng look,abaden,haha.

Then the very Saturday after Commencement, D & D was belatedly held @ one of the pretty good hotels @ orchard. Belatedly is because the event was originally to take place in early May but response was poor initially to say the least before a change of venue + slash of ticket prices(big time) + more psychoing amongst us on Commencement then @ least make the turnout numbers look more decent.

Food wise for 20 dollar/ticket, standard considered not too bad, other than the rather sour mango in the desert & the mushrooms taste better than the rather disappointingly cooked stir-fried scallop with celery. Not to forget got shark fin either in the soup or as part of the topping of the egg omelette served in the opening dish that has 4 portions of seafood,if i remember correctly.

I think with the end of D & D, i suppose for most of us,it may be sometime we gonna see one another in the near future (be it in person/MSN/what knots) but who knows, some of us may have switched careers(as far as I am aware of,some have done so already although it is still related to the construction industry) or some may be planning for the next step of the lives such as marriage.

The Great Singapore Sale

I know there is the ongoing Great Singapore Sale.

People are busy hunting for good bargains & the various retailers are throwing in the discounts to entice the crowd to buy more.

But not when the Prison Service either genuinely or "cock eyely" (which ever way it turn out sure they will have to find someone to sacrifice his own butt & kena invited to office to have a double-shot expresso) also are in the Sales frenzy when one released prisioner from one of the local remand prisions (not sure what a remand prison is u can ask a certain Mediacorp artiste,:P) apparently is filing a lawsuit for being given 3 extra strokes of the cane where he is supposedly being caned 5 times for some illegal money lending offence.

-Wow,if it is clothes or shoes it is very good bargain.But not when it involves literally a pain in the butt. Maybe the person who carry out the order really cannot differentiate 5 from 8 but that is quite hell lot of a difference.

Work wise I would say:very fast is 3 weeks gone & I am still in 1 piece.And I am glad & contented to do the stuff quietly and knock off on time,with the occasional OTing although company policy don't allow executives or whatever name u wan to name claim OT.Then boh chap lor.TIme up,no last minute news_Go.

And went to collect graduation gown yesterday.Met some ex school mates & some updates of the whereabouts of peepz. Barely a month & some already switched companies (or in the case of some,is from public sector to private sector) for various reasons. See How Things Can Be Zhnged in the matter of weeks?

Got those working in statutory boards,main contractor firms etc.They include the likes of URA,EDB (in case u really genuinely don't know what is EDB,google EDB & UNSW and u get the picture,muahaha),HDB,JTC,main contractors such as Woh Hup,consultancy firms such as Rider Hunt,KPK,DLS,CPG (where yours truely is in and learning new things big time) etc.

And happen to know that 2 of my primary school peepz r spending most of their time in the States although one of them is back for a short holiday..next month another good primary sch peepz of mine becoming member of ROM...

Scary sia,time fry very fast.

Faster than eating a bak chang or rowing the dragon boat...

Start work already,albeit for a week.

And I have to say:

Things u learn academically (be it during curriculum time & internship) and the actual stuff @ work is in some ways different.

Terms that r used quite freely in school....sounds 似曾相似 but end up when mentor ask me to gauge my understanding,i actually can't explain coherently...see,i must haf dump them back to sch...die...

Is either I am too over-anxious of not screwing things up or what knots.

But I donch noe...so far i tink those things that i tink i haf some understanding,i donch really noe them well or i donch noe many things either....

Oh,and squeezing with the MRT crowds after work is not cool.

Next week is week 2...more learning to come for me...what a steep learning curve..

Unveil the logo for London 2012 Olympics

Here is the new logo that has apparently attracted quite a bit of lambasting (the usual ones lor) in the UK

To quote the words of the chairman of the organising committee Seb Coe (from BBC website)

"It will define the venues we build and the Games we hold and act as a reminder of our promise to use the Olympic spirit to inspire everyone and reach out to young people around the world. "

My personal impression is that a bit hard to make out the numbers 2012 at the start.And based on guts & what knots,don't really understand how the logo is trying to promote London for the 2012 games.

At least got their own people questioning how much money spent (or wasted) on coming up with the design and the alternatives. It apparently cost appx 400k pounds (appx a million ++ sing dollars) for the coming up of the logo design and stuff.

Interesting isn't it when a few years,Singapore got spent close to $400k to conduct a renaming exercise for Marina Bay (in view of the future development and what nuts)...and guess the new name they came up with?

Now i realise how irritating or funny it can be when:

1) SGporeans (in this case just one only but I lazy to correct it) think is so fun dialling 999 or 995 and try to test how efficient our gahmen's law enforcement agencies r with some hoax.Tsk tsk,one line to describe the apprenhended culrprit

3) Ok,I did went to buy some stuff for work.11th June start lor.Got MRT literally stop under the feet of the office building so can save some time walk here & there.Sian next time harder to find a comfy seat to doze unlike my usual dozing habits when travelling on a bus. Eventually will have to execute even more zai time mgmt with work & my workout (i define workout to incld sometimes go gym & sometimes just run aimlessly around my neighbourhood)

4) And as I was down @ town with my mum to grab the stuff for work mentioned in 3), I overheard some enthu young peepz talk abt they next time wan go where study after Os & As..and got one say next time go NUS oso can since it is "Harvard of Asia".

Post season in European football

Yes yes,

almost all the major European leagues done & dusted other than La Liga,

already some clubs' managers/trainers start to come & go.

And the transfer window open liao.

For Man Utd,it is no open secret they are hell bent on getting Owen Hargreaves from Bayern & Sporting Lisbon's pacey Nani.

But to think they manage to pull out a surprising (& unexpected one) signing of FC Porto's Brazilian attacker,Anderson.

Now I can foresee their starting eleven for next season at times could well be as such 'cause they need to do a mixture of keeping & gradually phase the old guard (likes of Giggs,Van De Sar etc) out while the new ones r blooded in.

GK:Van De Sar (with pretty decent backup in the form of Ben Foster & the Pole,Kuschazsk or something)

RB: Still Gary Neville (although given the age & what knots,he may have to be gradually phased into a backup centerhalf for the first choice pairing of Ferdinand & Vidic).I tot it may also be worthwhile considering a gd cover to eventually take a starting role in RB.I suppose the likes of Wes Brown & John O'Shea will be those utility subs/backup more.

After thoughts of the 2007 Champion's League final

1st thing 1st,comparatively more watchable than the disappointing FA Cup final.

In case need any recap,Milan crowned winners for the 7th time with a 2-1 win over Liverpool.

1st half Liverpool create more chances but the number of on-target attempts isn't too gd.

As far as I can remember,all Milan have in terms of shots attempted (& on target) was just 2;Kaka being involved in the goals somehow.And via Pirlo's deflected free kick off Pippo,and Milan took the 1-0 lead at what is deemed a crucial time of the match;right just before halftime.

And around 82nd minute,Kaka,largely subdued by the impressive Javeir Mascherano prior to the Argentine's departure;slipped one hell of a clinical pass to Pippo (go look @ the goal which clearly demonstrate why he's one of the best strikers who can play off the shoulder off the last line of defence) who takes his career Champions League tally to 58 with another calm finish.

And this is not the 1st time that Milan secured a very professional win (rewind back to matches against Bayern & Man United) where they took the rare chances that fall into their path clinically.

Tactically,Liverpool's 4-2-3-1 is correct formation but ... (not that i want to wack them becos my allegiance is at the red half of Manchester)

Mascherano play outstandingly in following Kaka for most of the match prior to being replaced by Crouch. He also break up the rare Milan attacks in a simple yet impressive manner.

I thought Alonso looks below par amongst the 3 CMs (the other co-midfielders being Mascherano & Gerrard) where his range of passing & tackling not as gd as before.

Gerrard,given the license to play as the attacking midfielder to support Kuyt,didn't grab the game as much as I expect of him.

As for the 2 wide wingers,Pennant started well but faded in the 2nd half but i thought he created problems for Milan's Jankulovski with his darting runs etc.But the quality of crossing from both Pennant & Zenden is sub-standard.Not that Kewell did much better when he replace Zenden in the 2nd half.

Kuyt works his ass off but at times I feel when he is supposed to be in the box,he ends up outside it to create play.Which makes one wonder why Crouch only begin on the bench.

As for Milan,i would term their performance as being professional and they show how to cherish the rare chances and punish their opposition deadly.

Inzaghi justifys his selection (& later winning MoM) with 2 goals;especially the 2nd one which demonstrates his clinical touch.

Kaka largely well shadowed by Liverpool's best player in the match (Mascherano) but his 2 key involvements are hugely significant.My pick for being the Champions League Season MVP.

Seedorf is very quiet without much action.

Gattuso & Ambrosini largely shield quite well without much fuss.

Pirlo has really come of light from being a attacking midfield (Those got play championship manager will know what I mean) to being a deep lying playmaker with his better range of passing in comparison to Alonso.

The defence largely cope quite alright with the usual high Azzuri standard & as far as I can recall,Dida has only 2 significant saves to make throughout the whole 90 mins.

As far as I can see for Liverpool,they really need a much better dribbler cum crosser on the left & someone who can cement his place as a old-school striker who can just stick the ball into goal consistently.So far confirmed departures are Dudek & Fowler.I won't be surprised if the likes of Zenden & Mark Gonzalez are on their out.

As for Milan,they still need to buy fresh blood to make the team younger (their starting 11's average is 31) and to sustain the challenges on many fronts.

And with a interesting clash on the horizon against UEFA Cup holders Sevilla,woohoo.
